Gallia Young

Gallia Young is a writer and curator based in Glasgow and currently works as the Knowledge Exchange Admin Assistant at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She graduated from The University of Edinburgh with a degree in Social Anthropology in 2016 and completed her Masters in Curatorial Practice at GSA and The University of Glasgow in 2021. Since embarking on her studies in Curatorial Practice she has been developing ways of working in the arts which are process-oriented and anti-capitalist. She is deeply interested in movement and healing practices, and, from this place, her work inquires into different ways of being with the body and with the self. During her Masters she conducted her student placement as the Archive Assistant at Arika. Her curatorial projects include Show Me How You Care – a letter writing project on themes of care, and Soliloquy – a research and movement practice which explores different ways of making work, and challenging capitalist systems of value and productivity in the arts.
